yeah wear a mask Free highs are not recommended
just apply thin coats is the only tip i've got really, everything else is simple
make sure your laquer is warm, and good preperation will see better results

light sand of wheel better grip

let it dry
on a warm day spray thin layers of paint
allow to dry
warm day again laquer um up shiny shine bish bosch job done ........

Sand them down (key the surface)
Clean with thinners
Primer (3-4 coats)
Dry
Paint (however many coats needed)
Dry
Laquer
Then leave 24hrs to harden off
You thinking of doing it with rattle cans or with a spray gun?

ain't you supposed to light sand the paint with wet, wet and dry before lacquering.

I wouldnt know, never had any problems with the ones i've done. Suppose it just flattens the paint abit really

I've done it both ways, flatting the paint before laquer gives a better shine.

i flat it back before the clear coat. But then again I do mine in a dusty old shed, still get a very nice shine, specially after machine polishing.
