Tonight the battery light came on the dash on my Calibra, and on the volt meter its reading below 12v, I just managed to get it started, but I need the car for work tomorrow, I could smell a burning plastic smell coming through the vents, My thought was it is probably the alternator has fucked, so on inspection all looked well, but then I touched it, are they meant to be so hot you cant touch them or is it a sign its broke?

Iv posted this hear instead of help zone for quickness as if it dost run tomorrow I cant get to work.
