It started hurting last night around 7pm, i was hoping it would be better by the time i woke up but it still realllly hurts when i move, and it means i cant go swimming Is there anything I can do to make it better, or just keep resting? Im thinking about going to the sports centre and getting a professional massage, would that help?

Get some strong ibruprofen from the pharmacy and those heat pack things.

My bf has this problem every now and then.

Massage does help.

Dont rest if poss as it makes it worse so the docs say.

swimming might be good for it because there will be no pressure on your back. even if you just float around for a bit.

I've just had exactly the same. Lower right of my back, continuing down my leg.

Couldn't walk in the end, and when the doctor lay me down straight, on my back, and he lifted my leg up 6inches the pain was horrendous.

He put an injection into my back, and gave me 2 sets of pain killers and some muscle relaxant gel. Took me literally 2 weeks to get myself right and still don't feel 100%

I spoke to the people at the swimming pool and told them what the problem was, they said they will get massage therapist and sports physio to come see me initially to decide which one i need. Good job I speak Spanish
If the pain has gone by tomorrow then im gonna go for a swim anyway before the appointment and just have a normal massage cos ive never had a professional one before

Thats your sciatic nerve, be careful with that, obviously can lead to sciatica in later life.. Muscle relaxant injections should be the last resort. Simple stretching and mobilisation can keep the are supple and alleviate pain.
