eeeeekkk, think i need to rob a bank

see http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=180

I was just writing down what we need to do for TimeAttack (or what i'd liek really).... Some of it is to meet regs, other to improve car. Havent even touched on suspension, but it was a major outlay about 8months ago it can just wait.

Plans...... things that need to be done, and then wishes

PREP
Fit bonnet & Boot pins
Fit new belts and seats
Fabricate firewall for boot/interior
strip more weight out
Buy battery box
Buy small gell battery
Perspex windows

PERFORMANCE
Buy/Fit ECU
Fit 820cc injectors
Fit fuel system
Get it mapped
Bigger brakes front/rear

AERO
Rear Diffuser
cannards on front
larger rear wing

Thats my hopes for this year....

wishes
Flat bottom the floor, leading to rear diffuser
large front splitter
rear diff and gearbox cooler mounted in car (rear) with NACA ducted vents cooling them.
More substatial cage, with stiffners and stich welded shell
GRP doors/Bonnet/Boot

oohhhh.... the list is endless

Also informed Toyo that we'll be requiring 2 sets of tyres (cut slicks) per round.... so I expect to be over run by part worns mid summer Anyone use 255/40/17's?

Also... I'm going to be away for the first TA round at Donnington on the 6th April.... anyone be around to fix the car for Fee and be her pit monkeys?

I would offer but I'm actually no use to you.

How are you getting the car there? I assume it has to be road legal?

some of the wishes will prob be just that

might look into widening the track too, or just sourcing wider wheels. We have 2 sets of 9" wide rims and 1 set of 8" now...

I'd prob be happy binning the 8" for some 10-12" hehe

oh... and speed holes... lots of weight saving

a wee bit of advice, your getting yourself into a whole world of hassle if you buy a truck, trust me as someone who has lived with trucks all his life, your better off getting a trailer.

In what way?
We're trying to decide between the two.
Trailer cons - we don't have a licence for them, and I find them impossible to reverse
Truck cons - when we're dumping the car at a track at night we don't have a car to get us to a hotel etc

you will need a seperate license for the lorry aswel

the lorry will cost alot more to run, tax, insurance, fuel, parts. all adds upto alot, my dads mate who runs in the super rallycross class started off witha recovery lorry as he has one for his buisness, but has swapped to a land cruiser with a trailer due to the cost of getting all the way to knockhill from down here in the south.

I think we can drive a truck on our licences but just under 7500kg

I wouldn't have thought there would be much difference in petrol between the two

you have to tax and run a tow car though does no one realise that

3.5t is fine on a car licence.

I'm not adverse to a 4x4 and trailer, but I know the issues Fee would have parking it Plus i quite fancy another rangeRover to pimp about in

no lorrys are classed under 7.5 tonne

also you going to have to shell out for an MOT once a year, which even tho the actual MOt cost is less than a car, the way they have to be presented specially, most average horse box mot bill coems out between 900-1500 pounds.

They always go wrong, for example i have just sent out a breakdown crew to a vehicle at tescos, that needs a boost start after the driver has used the taillift and the batteries have drained

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Transit-beavertail-recovery-truck-2003_W0QQitemZ200192394438QQcmdZViewItem

I know they will all be different, but it's something we'll need to watch out for.

Maybe best just sitting the extra test
