My corsa will be off the road soon.
So i will need a car to go to work and back.
I normally use the 405 td...but theres no tax/mot brakes...steering rack is fooked.
Ive been offered a 1.7 td astra Mk3 for £300......do these engines go for ever like my 405? Or should i look out for anything? Its just that i dont want to have to spend money on the car while im spending on the corsa

If its the isuzu engine then they are solid engines, guy I know has one with over 150k on it and its had two 17 year olds as the last owner and current
Also you can turn the boost up easily for some more poke and open the diesel pump

150k is is nothing compared to my 405 though....ive had a corsa sri with 160k on the clock
My 405 has 270k on the clock and the engine is still strong

1.7TD Cavvy's used to be king of the taxi rank round here - speaks volumes IMO .
