Still don't know what happened for sure, know the road very well, felt the car skipping out, tried to correct it, thought i had it but nope. Ended up pin balling agaisnt the kurbs, and sideways in the ditch. The police officer said it was ice. I'm not sure. Car isn't in too bad of a state. New new rad, both wings, lights, bumper and bonnet. But i'm a bit concerned it's bent and i hit it with some force. Pics:

I'd be getting the alignment of the chassis checked out first.

Surprising what you can do to a car with not much visable damage.

Car drives straight, had to get it on the drive. It's getting checked out tomorrow as i said i'm sure it's bent. As for handling i don't think it has anything to do with the performance, its a bad roads, loads of people stack it there, never experianced what happened before, didnt feel like over steer.

Except for that sharp bend near the lorry.

The car might not be pointing the way it was travelling.

unlucky

when i had my 106 gti i found it was notorious for it, i had a few near misses in the wet due to lift off over steer coming out of corners and spun a few times but luckily managed to keep it on the road, in the dry nothing could touch it though

Is there no damage to the rear/side where its landed in the field? I recon they could right that off..................larger repair than it meets the eye.

torsion bars are not shit they are very capable on this car in the right hands, but the handling isnt very forgiving, you do not force the issue with these round bends in anything other then dry conditions

or if your not prepared to counter act lift off oversteer

People saying they are notorious for it, after the first couple of times you were caught out did you not either learn how to compensate for it or drive within your limits.

Getting caught out when you already know under what circumstances it happens is driving beyond your limits imo.

Looks like youve come round that bend, let off the throttle slightly which has sent weight from the back end, and its stepped out and spun around.

Suprised the damage isn't that much, where it is in the ditch you would expect a lot worse.
