Basically, when i started DJing and buying records - i got into hardcore first before any other style. In fact, its because of hardcore i started to DJ.
Listening to Bonkers 3; Dougal's & Hixxy's while on holiday in Italy blew me away! So fast forward a few years, 2002 to be exact - i was so pissed off at the lack of hardcore mixes that were 'Happy' hardcore. There was lots of freeform, trancy style and lots of haters of cheese but only a few mixes inbetween.
I decided to do something about it. This is when i mixed 'The Cheese Files' version 1. This started out as just a normal mix with a normal title from me but after the first 100 downloads, i thought this is actually popular and people quite like it. This is when i had a webhost that stored all my mixes and didnt charge me for whatever i used so it didnt matter that loads of people where downloading it.
There were a few more mixes inbetween but the cheese files stayed as a one mix untill early 2004 when i decided to bring back my most downloaded mix (on a new host as the other one had go tits up!) as there was another distinct lack of 'happy' hardcore. It was a sure fire hit once more.
It was then that i decided to make a little brother for the cheese files collection - this is when cheese files V2 was mixed - incorperating more cheesie classics from years gone by. Sure enough, people liked it - but IMO cheese files v2 is the worst of the 6.
Due to popular demand and my ever growing hardcore collection, cheese files V3 and V4 came in close sucsession in mid 2004. A few months down the line and christmas was comming! I was happy so i mixed cheese files V5 to give everyone that 'special' feeling around christmas - this was given to friend and uploaded for people to download around the world.
Then came 2005. I had to wait for a few days (so my new hardcore records imported from Japan came to put in the mix) and set about mixing cheese files V6.
So here they are, the whole collection - online together for the first time, like one big 'happy' cheesie family...
