Why not just do a 16v if you're going through the bother of a conversion?

Because everyone got that! If i bought another corsa for a conversion, it would be the 130bhp 8v engine. Not half as common as a redtop, and not that much slower

So? Fair enough with something like a V6. But people aren't gonna think "Wow he has an 8v 2 litre, he's much cooler than everyone who puts 16v's in."

Just seems for all that work, for the little bit of extra power as standard, plus the ability to tune in the future, you may aswell just put the 16v in.

All IMO of course

There not, they are going to say at least he aint on the bandwagon

Them 8v's are tunable, and alot cheaper to do at the same time (Ie cam, manifold etc)

8v will possibly be quicker to 60 if you use a F13 box!, won't do more than about 120mph tho. I'm gonna do another corsa soon and this is what I'll be doing

8 valve engines are awesome, easily tuned, cheap and are practicly indestructible!

2 litre 8v on 45s should see decent power, and dont even start on the sound

Yep! Am about to start a project to build up exactly that!

8v are a defo hardier engine than the 16v, put out more torque, and sound better! Plus as said earlier, they less common! And they cheaper to insure too!...

8v 16v the biggest arguement within the vaux community. 8v more low down punch easier to work on. they are bomb proof wont knock rattle and smoke. depends what you want at the end of the day. but i will say you wont regret putting a SEH lump into a corsa.
