im with endsleigh and for some reason they dont allow performance mods.
in this case exhaust.

if i got a custom 2" exhaust (tiny), do you think they would know it wasn't standard?

declare ALL non standard parts. Not worth it to not tell them in the event of a claim.

If they don't allow performance mods then don't get any. If you happen to get an exhaust made which doesn't affect performance then there is an argument for suggesting that this is fine.

Onus is on you to prove this though and Endsleigh to be happy with it. Even assuming you can, they may not be.

Might as well put alloy wheels on, cat-back, LET and pull them all off when u are in a hospital bed after you wrapped your car around a tree.

But anyway, I don't working for Endsleigh or in the police force. Who am I to say you can't mod your car without informing your insurance company

Lie, tell them it's an Irmscher one & was a factory extra. They cover factory extras, but not other modifications

It aint worth dicking about with!

Here is a copy/paste from elsewhere;

"Well would you believe it... b**tards... my own fault really tho... Had just nipped into town to do some food shopping and on me way back was being followed by the old bill for bout 5 mins before he pulled me over. Said that i'd done nothing wrong but was a general winter safety check? Anywho's I proceeded to tell him that the cars fine and completely road legal, tyres, MOT, tax etc etc... He had a look round and said fine, then asked me to open the bonnet - aaarrrggghhh, haven't yet told the ins. company bout the VVC, he won't notice me thought. Anyway, first thing he said was 'lotus engine?' i said no, it's just a cover. 'But it's a VVC he said, must be a 1800 - DOH! Trust me to get a copper that know's his engines! So from that point onwards I had to be straight with him. So there've put it on a flat bed and seized it til I provide new insurance documents. Costing me £105 for the recovery fee then £25 a day storage - daylight robbery. Have also now got 6 points for no insurance!!!

Moral of this story is - notify insurance straight away of any modifications "

Basically don't try to save a few quid. If you cannot afford to insure it properly then you cannot afford the modifications - it's both or nothing!

i used to have a 4" trim on there.
and someoen crashed into the side of me.

insurance inspected it etc, never said anything about it.
didn't even asked if it was a trim.
that's why i thought about getting a decent backbox.

firstly thats an engine conversion.
nothing like changing the backbox.

& police cant check if you mods are insured, i asked my insurance.

police will pull you over nowadays if your music is too loud.

engine conversons un-declared are WRONG

A fucking exhaust trim though c`mon, I suppose there are the people on here who will argue over anything though

its your car if you want a back box and want to take the risk go for it

non of my corsa/saxo mods were declared

I now have a standard car
