What do people generally think of these?

I really want to get a 1985 5.7 V8 Pontiac Trans-AM.

Nearly bought a 3.1 Firebird V6 but bottled it. I just love the '85 Trans-AM

Anyone else considering a yank tank?

I pick up my Mustang next tuesday dad $19,000 brand new from the dealership when I ordered it it was slighty over $2 to the £1 so worked out about around £9300 for a brand new car so thought can't be bad.

Pay that for a corsa back home and only $170 for a years insurance.

When I ordered it all the natives slagged it off saying never buy one as it will always be in the shop(garage) so I let you know how I get along.

I was suprised how cheaper cars where to be fair and the insurance is silly $170 on the mustang which i thought was silly so got a price on a 911 which came in at $690 for the year.

So can only dream.

But will make do with a 4.0 v6 lump for less than a Corsa Sxi lol

I've got an English car with an American engine. Best of both worlds.

Does that count?

I just love the gen 3 F body.

Way ahead of it's time imo and the 5.7 HO V8 sounds awesome.

I like the gen 2 6.6 V8 but just prefer the shape of the Gen 3

I had a 1975 Firebird.

IMO, don't buy a yank tank unless its either a minter, or you're prepared to do a lot of work and source difficult to find parts, at least on the older ones. 80's yank cars are pants, at least get something from the 60s or 70s.

But the noise is awsum.
