if you want rid of swirl marks, you first need to try clay barring the car (meguires kit from halfords will be fine, but dont use the wax/polish in the kit), and then use Autoglym Super Resin Polish. You will need super resin and no other polish from halfords as it is the only one that i know of from there that has 'filling agents' to fill the swirl scratches up and make them look like they have gone. then a good wax on top of the super resin to protect it.

you wont get rid of swirl marks unless you either spend hours with a cutting compund by hand or get it machine polished
willhouse what you suggested wont get rid of swirl marks
it may mask them for a shortwhile

no chance of making swirls disapear by hand this time of year, tis a pain in the tits with a machine!
where abouts are you from? check the regional sections on detailing world if you really want your car de-swirled and someone may offer to detail your car.
