Welcome mate What is your budget? Since it's your first car I guess it'll need to be a 1.4 or under for insurance?

Welcome

If you can afford it, I'd say go for a 1.4 SRi/Sport

First car, something like a 1.2 8v/16v would be a good start, nippy enough.

Can do anything you want to a corsa really, what type of cars do you like?

But has the 'styling' of Sports i.e. alloys, spoilers, Sport interior.

Welcome by the way

Although my 12v hasn't really put a foot wrong since I've had it, it is rather slow. 1.2 16v post-97 is what you want to be looking at, minimum imho.

You'll probably find a car for similar money but you need to fuel and insure it - get some quotes for an accurate idea.

That style is high maintenance in that if you damage any bodywork it will be expensive to repair, so budget for that.
