Been thinking for a while now about shelling out and buying a Porsche 911 Carrera. I'm not sure about marks as I haven't looked into it fully yet, but like two models. Carrera 2 dating between 1988-1995.

Anyone like to hazard a guess to an insurance premium?

I'm almost 26 and have never made a claim so full NCB, clean licence, car would be garaged and fitted with tracker.

no automatically it wouldnt, ive got a 1979 MG and i had the choice to use classic or not... with classic it cant be your main car, its got limited mileage and mine specifies its got to be kept in a garage. On the plus side you should get an agreed value and a few other benefits if the worst should happen.

To be honest you would be better finding specialist insurance for it rather than a classic... Maybe a porsche specialist or prestige car.

oh and Grp20 is a load of nonsense. Do you actually go out looking at cars thinking 'what ins group is it'

Cars with lower groups may be mor expensive to insure.

I've had 6 grp20 cars now i think all vary wildly. Most i've ever paid for insurance was 1600 for my twin turbo supra when i was 21. My 911 was my dads at that point and the quote for it was actually higher.

Had plenty of 'group 20' cars. Probably looking at 1300-1600 odd I would have said.

I looked at a Carrera 4 and was quoted 1450 IIRC - Have same history, almost same age, low miles, garage etc and good history with performance cars. Can't see it being under a grand!

Did a couple of online quotes (Elephant and Tesco) best quote so far is £1204. Not bad for only two quotes so could probably find cheaper if I look harder.
