As above, ive found the best way for putting number plates on is using that double sided sticky velcro stuff, as screws look ugly and using that double sided tape makes them impossible to get off.

Where can I get some of the sticky velcro and does it have a name?

Didn't think of that.

Mine's on with velcro, but that's so I can sling it in the boot and do 150mph gatso flybys.

I have 2 mates who both copied me and went for plain plates
They stuck them on with velco, i have thoughts of swapping the plates round for the shear fun of it

Jim if you seriously didnt think of that you must be daft.

i thought the police wernt too keen on this because people who nick petrol or worse tend to stick fake plates/stolen plate using this method for ease of swapping.

My 3/4 plate is stuck on with Halfrauds double sided black trim tape. Sticks rather well to say the least
The MOT man couldnt get it off so just stuck the full sized one i keep in my boot over the top until i went to fetch it later on

I have both of the plates in surrounds. The surrounds screw to the car, and hold the plates securely, and don't come open easily without a special tool. They'd probably come off with some force, but that's no different to most ways of holding them on. The plates are easy to swap, should I find a reason to.

But, it serves as a deterrent if they look like they're held on securely. If you could just grab it and run, it'd be more tempting. Velcro plates would be more likely to come off while moving, too.

Which is why if you use three double sided sticky number plate tabs then the plate will probably get damaged in the process of being ripped off. You might find that a lot of cars have thier plates screwed on with security screws too...
