what are the laws with towing on a motorway? as need to tow a car to dartford tomorrow morning at bout 7.30

You can only tow with a rope to the next junction in the case of an emergancy. You can tow with a fixed bar for longer distances. The car you're towing must be taxed and insured too.

yea cars taxed and insured but no wheres open to buy a bar now so was thinking bout risking it but its prob a hefty fine!!!

there is no laws on a motorway people do as they please , go as fast as they want and ive seen women crouching down peeing and showing there arse the all the drivers going by

If you break down ON the motorway, you have to be removed swiftly and safely to services or the next junction. This is why free recovery is usually provided.

So if you can limp her on and then break down you may be in luck.

If however, you tow a car onto a motorway without a 4 wheel lift (i'm not sure what the deal is with a 2 wheel/spec recovery) and with of all things a rope, the local law enforcement/anti motorist squadron will dry fuck you into the middle of next year.

I had a narrow escape about 15 years ago when I towed a mate's Mini for bleeding miles with a tow strap and my Cavalier at motorway speeds in all lanes, blissfully unaware of the law.

Oh, and these days, ignorance is no defence as far as the filth are concerned i'm afraid.
