for anyone that read it, very interesting to see that the n/a 2.0 engines were just as fast/faster than the Let's and V6 ones. granted they had a proper gearbox but goes to show that fast doesnt necessarily mean having a turbo or big engine.

Different drivers tho too.
Especially important on the 1/4 times.

yes but where can you use that speed, even on a track a n/a 2.0 would beat a v6 or let

wtf how were they just as fast if not faster ?? they mostly got slower times, and the ones than did put a decent time in were 200+bhp as half of them were throttlebodied and one nitrous

lol most of the lets had interiour bar one, and all the xe with throttle bodies had either lsd's or quaife straight cut boxes and a couple of xe's were running semi slicks so bit of a advantage there don't you think?

if using a flat fly and f20 (which most would if a conversion) probably weigh the same as a let on an f28...

still its easier to fit a LET and make it lighter, as well as tuning it

The v6's are lazy when you have a flywheel weighing 15kgs! No wonder they dont pick up until your past like 3k!

Just got total Vaux today. There is a C20XE nova with a whole sec quicker to 60 than a LET nova.

my guess is though that the xe will have had lots of work and the let not so.
lets not get confused the xe's advantage is really in its smoother power delivery and ability on track, pound per performance, or direct comparison staight line speed its never going to beat a let.

lets not forget that the way a car drives, throughout the rev range and in different gears is a reason to choose a turbo that will be responsive and very torquey all over the revs, rather than having to rev the tits off a N/A engine.
If i were using one on a track id go N/A But i much prefer the drive of a turbo car to that of a N/A one. Quicker on the road IMO.

also the xe that got fastest 0-60 was useing nitrous and uses road legal cut slicks .. and in drag raceing if it has nitrous it goes in the same class as turbo cars .. the silver xe in there was the best imo that must be 250ish bhp to get a 107 terminal on the 1/4 and 148 on speed run

I don't know what to save for then, If I get to half way and get the car XE'd then regret it and wish I'd gone for the LET. It's doing my head in

if its road car and your just wnating an engine swap then LET it!!
youll spend a shit load more on an XE to make it faster.
iv spent thousands on my XE and its fast but i would never use it for a road car
