I HATE BLACK ICE!!!!!!

turning into me street on sunday night doing about 10-15 mph, back end came round. DOOOOOSH, sideways into the kerb.

Thought it was just me back wheel that took the force, took it off the next morning and me axle is wrecked, pissed off coz it had a disc conversion on the back.

Getting it sorted on Sat, got a rear axle off a corsa b gsi to go on, drill the holes for the disks and jobs a guddun'

using me mates lasses mk3 polo at the minute, its a 1.6 and its worse on petrol than me 2.0 corsa.

Cant really tell in the pics how bent it is, rollin'n on 3 slabs and a steelie

Yes i know it needs a wash....

It also boils down to how well you know the roads.

I know every road round here and know to expect grease, oil, fuel, puddles, pothols. So when i'm coming upto those areas your grandma is overtaking me on her zimmer frame.

But it's a lot harder to know where the black ice is going to be. Don't get me wrong, i have expected some being there and had fun going over it. But so far so good, not been cought out.

Professional

Unlucky mate, I hit a kerb with my rear wheel and it bent the rear beam. Not too hard to replace if you have a fair idea of what you're doing.

Did you know you are statistically more likely to crash on a road that you know than a road that you dont!

mate you had a disc conversion, probs the reason why the rear end stepped out, you just dont need discs on the back of a 2.0 corsa

YAWN, knew you'd all say that. If there is black ice on the road then basic physics tells us that it is no doubt be fairly cold outside. I know thats hard to grasp when your sitting in car toasty warm with your heaters on . An therefore you should driving accordingly and never assume that the road has been treated. The worst thing you can ever do in life is make assumptions as thats how mistake happen an people die.

Im sick of seeing 90% of the population driving way past their and their cars capabilities in conditions that arent that difficult to understand. Its starting to get boring seeing all the cars in the hedges / trees when we get a slight frost.
