Orderd A new turbo for my Focus RS one thats never been made before... taking the GT28 internals and putting them into the standard GT25 housing for the Rs...
Well, waiting four weeks and then something like this happens...
Ordered my Gt26 Plus a few weeks back and was told 7-14 days well after 3 and a half weeks it arrived this morning.. took it straight to the garage this morning to have it fitted and was hoping to drive away tonight...
Went down to the garage and there it was fitted and awaiting to be started, it started fine... idled fine, once revved it made a loud wishing/ whirl noise. The mechanic took the turbo back off in case there was something stuck inside or the turbo or something obstructing it!
A later inspection revealed that the machining on the inside of the housing hadn't been carried out properly and there was a wee tiny nick of metal right at the end sticking up and each compressor blade was slightly scored/ nicked...
not happy at all at the poor workmanship, everyones closed now for Christmas.
Hopefully it will get sorted sooner than later.... Rant Over lol

Blatant oversight in quality control. Have you put the old blower back on?

Is it not possible that a slight amount of metal may have made it into the engine itself?
