Basically in the new year i am thinking of buying a car for using on trackdays. I have pretty much decided on a porsche 944, but i have a couple of questions..
Normally whats the sort of price for a track day these days?
Those that regularly go, how many a year do you manage to do?
Insurance.. the car wll still be registered and mot'd etc but not insured for road use, are there any companies that will insure cars for track use only?
Any other usefull info would be good. Past experiances of tracks etc etc

trackdays, depending on location between £70 for an airfield one, right up to £170 for an open pitlane one at say brands hatch
yeah theres speicalist insurers for track use
also its finding a preferance between open pitland days and session days
session is group of say 15, split into ability, and on track for 15mins at a time, problem is, if someone goes off, thats the session over, where as open pitlane are more expensive, but you can go out when you want, for virtually the whole day

dont think a 944 is too wise a car to start with. Not that cheap to run/fix.
Look out for a pre-prepped 205 Mi16/S16 - honestly Once you have done a good few events look for a 944.
It isnt cheap.
Your looking at roughly 400-500 per track day if you total it all up. Travel costs, fuel, oil changes, tyres, track pass.
There a few ins companies that cover for track days. Not cheap though.
We prob do about 10-15 a year or as many as we can when the car is operational.
