They say that every picture tells a story - what is the story behind this one I wonder ?

I saw a wheel, seemingly wedged under the crash barrier on a 'high speed' freeway exit on my way home this evening and snagged a couple of shots - the more I look at the shots, the more I wonder......

Looks like it's been understeering, can see the rubber mark on the first wooden post, then by the time it's got to the second, it's dug in on the knock off hub centre, the suspension arm's ripped out and the force of that has dragged the wheel around 180 degrees after it's lodged under the barrier maybe?

i first saw it and thought it was a et engine!!

seems a bit extreme. given the design of the wheel it must have come off the car then hit the barrier (given no evidence of the car on the non road side) but how it manae to wedge itself under is anyones guess

Agree with Ash there.

But why would the police/recovery remove the car but leave the wheel.

Maybe the owner had 25k of debt so faked his death by leaving a wreckage on the highway. He was later seen viewing an apartment and got caught out.

No, wheel hit the timber post, snapped the suspension and spun round 180 as it was partly jammed under the metal barrier.
