ive got a road legal 660 raptor. be putting it through its mot soon though to get it back on the road.

in the past ive had a 170 and a 250 road legal quad too.

All you need is a car driving liscence, a full liscence is best, but you can ride them on a provisional, but the insurance is very expensive.

They are super fun to ride, cant wait to get back on the road with mine.

TBH, even if you don't need to, you'll want to so you can breathe at speed

I've never seen the fascination of driving on the roads with quads tbh.

I much prefer off road on bikes and quads

ill get some pictures up of the Raptor later on.

My insurance is £700 for the year on it.

Performance wise im not sure, but the low down acceleration on standard gearing is ridiculous and would show up a hell of alot of things off the lights including performance bikes and cars.

top speed with standard gearing is just over 70mph, although i wouldnt really recommend doing anything more than 50 on tarmac unless it has road tyres and and its super smooth tarmac, otherwise they weave all over the place.

I have a RAM170 fitted with a supermoto CCM 650cc bike engine
Fully road legal which is pritty fast beats raptors and will easy see 100mph.
Performace is good on the high powered quads, mile will best a typer/clio182 etc so i would say high 4's low 5's to 60.
As said i wouldent really like to any more than 70 as its not good
My insurance is on very cheap as its on my traders.

I would say a 250cc would be boring after a while, a 250cc crosser is fast BUT a 250cc quad is slow and no where near the same as a 250 crosser.

If you can get the quad New then get them to register it as a ARG rather than PLG this means free TAX and NO MOT's.

350cc Banchee's are good aswell and worth looking at, will leave a 660cc raptor.

Pics of mine (in the middle of a rebuild at the moment)

even if the quad isnt new you can still get it registered as a agricultural vehicle, as said, free tax, no mot and also insurance alot cheaper!

Just need to put a small sprayer on the back and get it passed as a AGR vehicle, if u see most farmers and offer them some money for borrowing a sprayer or pelleter they will more than likely be happy if the money is gd!
