Hi every1,

now i know this comes up everyday but i am really needing help on deciding which car to buy next. I currently own a Pulsar GTI-R which is great but just after something a little newer.

I have around £5-6K to spend but want something quick and reliable and also newer than 98- . I am 20 years old and i am currently paying £700 a year insurance but will pay up to £1.5K. I have already looked at Subaru's and EVO's but they want £3k to insure, so i am now unsure what car to get.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

Sam

For that money you could get a very nice scooby.

Try Gary Moulson(make sure you get HIM) at Keith Micheals for insurance..had my 3 scoobs insured with them and he will get you a very good qoute.

Honda Civic Type R (not breadvan shape, the one before that?)

Integra Type R would be high up my list for tracky fun.

Turbocharged or NA?
What do you want to use it for? Work and home? Track and blat etc? (difference between dervs, NA, Forced induction etc).

I wouldm't mind another turbo. I am actually going to see an Integra this Weekend. Ihave never driven or even sat in 1 but i have heard they are nice cars.

Now i have also looked at a Golf TDI 150 but i get the feeling they may be sluggissh. Correct me if i am wrong

Nahh, loads of low down torque. Just will suffer top end revs. If your doing big trips, its a good idea, otherwise i'd go for the 1.8T petrol over that.

Thats a dodgy budget. You can either get an older turbo car, then there was a lul of medium size turbo'd cars. Now they have made a huge comeback.

So for that, unless your looking at a 2.5T GTS skyline, or Supra TT, or small pocket rocket (Celica, Charade Turbo etc), i'd go NA.

But then NA needs to be revved.

Turbos also drink a lot of juice don't forget.

Oh, btw, had a friend with a PD130, he put a merc airflow meter on it, and although my corsa was a little poorly when she got put away, he'd happily stick on my ass up to 80mph.......

I got a Pulsar At the mo so not really bothered about the new car being juicy as i get about 15mpg in Pulsar round Town. Your exactly right it is a dodgy budget thats why im struggling . I have thought bout CTR
