right ive got a corsa gsi and i like it looks smart etc but the 1.6 just doesnt feel fast any more. ive been offered a swap for a mk1 saxo vts silver with this done to it........engine was fit 3 month ago and was fully re-built before fitting so make sure it was perfect. The head was sent away and port and polished, it was also fitted with Cat 708 hi-lift cams. and re-mapped along with a pipercross venom enclosed induction kit, heat wrapped stainless steel Raceland 4-2-1 manifold, straight through centre section and magnex back box. It also has been fitted with a quickshift so shorten gear changes. lowered 70 back 60 front with platinum 8's on.
Im not sure weather to go for that or to put a 2.0 in my corsa or not.
how would they fair up.
i really like my car but dont no if i could be bothered with the chew on of swapping engines. its the fact ill be losing my leather seats and digi dash etc aswell.

You have to question why the person with the Saxo wants to swap a 150odd bhp car for a 110bhp one which is heavier.

Basically, you need to ask what's wrong with the Saxo?

keep the corsa...... i had a saxo vtr..... and i know its not a vts, but build quality of a french car, is shit! trust me after 6 months hard (ish) driving you'd be spending loads on it! gearboxes are very weak!

my mate said i could have his engine box loom and ecu for 250 out of his corsa. but its just the chew on finding someone to do it. wear as the saxo will probs be just as quick and handle better.

I was gonna say 'Corsa 2.0 XE' to your car...

but a vts with 708's and remap will beat a corsa XE! both handling and straight line pace.

I'd deffo recommend taking the Vts for a test drive... it'll be running 155-160 bhp and obviously weigh nothing... You'll be shocked at how quick / way it pulls through the revs.

Thing is, it's like my car, I decided not to sell it as I figure the demand for a tuned 106 gti is probably not that high (or people assume its been ragged) - that's probably why he's practically giving it away.
