Hi, could someone post a pic up of their XE, where the alternator is visible? As there seems to be an Earth wire missing from the top of this one

You need some 0 gauge wire, 2 crimp on connectors and then put it from the alternator to the earth point on the chassis leg.
No pics needed.

original way is from aternator tension bolt (13mm) to the bracket that goes to the inlet, under the bolt head that screws threw the bracket into the inlet manifold

Yeh.... mine too. It cost about 2 quid from Halfords on trade for a pretty braided earth strap

You laugh, but using some 4 gauge, and no crimps, is what got me to santa pod, got me 2 runs, then got me home again.... My earth strap snapped on the motorway up to pod...
In fact, it still sits there to this day

0 Gauge is a bit over kill, especially when you compare the size of the standard earth straps with 0 gauge wire.
