still dont understand this house insurance thing though, if they will cover a 17 year old on a corsa with a 2 litre engine as part of the house insurance then it must be very expensive house insurance as most house insurance is around £400 a year for buildings and contents, compare that to £2000+ for a 17 year old with such a car that has just passed their test.

Its not that I dont believe you Dan, just very very interested! u2u me the name of the insurance company, I have my house insurance renewal this month

yeah will find out and let you know tomorow when i ring ya.

A lad my dad used to work with bought an escort cosworth when he was about 19 a few years ago now and he did it this way.. the lowest quote he could get from an insurance company was about 20,000

p.s dont be slowing her down for me

Good luck mate,

if his house is used as a business address he could be insured under some sort of traders policy on the business insurance, my mate does this

PLus an xe corsa isnt that mad for a first car. I know people who had gti6's, typre R's etc as there first car. The kiddy next door got a white st focus for his 18th B day. Lucky bastard

This thread confuses me...

1) Have you had your test? Yes/No
- if Yes to Q.1 goto Q.2
- if No please state

2) Have you crashed your XE Corsa?
- if Yes then there'll be someone along shortly to say "I told you so"
- if No then please state and there'll be someone along shortly to predict a crash soon.

Test over.

I started with a gti for my first car, Been driving all my life when a little boy and i thought it was to fast.

Also there is no such thing as car insurance thru house policy, You get like 5% discount, So i bet you all the corsa hasn't been declared a redtop

How do i know? I use to be an insurance breaker and housing insurer specialist when i left school

You will learn the hardway when it gets wrapped into a pole

Has to be its literally impossible for insurance on a redtop at 17, Not even house insurance would be stupid enough, They work off the same database as normal insurers so why would it be any different?

I reckon he will be added to your list
