Dont personally really see the attraction in spending half your life lifting shit. Theres too much other neat stuff to do.

They sleep.

As with most things in life - no its not for everyone.

I couldnt be that comitted to having muscles, to the extent where it takes over your live. its not even so much as being a big bastard, it goes past that. Those guys in that clip have biceps to win a competition & not alot more. Its like there whole existance is have bigger arms than the next guy. Seems a bit crazy to the average joe like myself.

Colin it's like every sport. They do what they do to be the best, not have bigger biceps than the next guy. They're pro's and some earn millions.

Suppose, my narrow minded window of a view doesnt see past the slog they have to do to become a muscle man. Totally not my thing, but if thats what you enjoy then im no one to stand in your way!

In principle they're no different to any other professional sportsman. They're life revolves around the sport, they train to be the best, and they make a fucking fortune. David beckham trains to kick a bag of wind between two posts.
It's a bit more than dedicating their whole life to having big arms.

Thats fair enough but in my understanding alot of folk just want to bulk up & gain muscle because they think it makes them look the tits?

I met a guy I used to go to school with a while ago, in school he used to get bullied alot & was generally a bit of a geeky plebhead. He'd obviously been hitting the Gym, steriods & sunbeds like a madman & had arms like tree trunks, he thought it was great & that he was a cut above the rest of the people in our company. Truth was he was still the same geeky cunt he was back in secondary school but now just looked very silly.

Thats the only real time ive had to come face to face with a meat head. He was seriously disillusioned that now he had pecks he was something special. Made me laugh, totally irrelivent to yourself or those guys in the vid's but to me thats what its about to the majority of people.

I can't speak for everyone else, i can only give my view and my reasons.
I do agree that alot of people train to get big so they can walk around like they're carrying carpets under there arms and give it the large. I have no time for these people. The guy you talk of sounds like he falls into this personality. I would have no time for him either.
These kind of people are the kind of people who wear little when they go out, tight tops etc, and aren't actually that big. You tend to find the bigger guys are actually quite humble and will cover up more often than not. I cringe when i see 'big' people with tight little tops on.

But, as i said, each to their own

Yeah your discription is bang on actually, total idiots with tight tops & fat steriod pumped arms. Sadly thats all ive seen of gym hero's around here. My local gyms must be full of muppets & no true sportsmen.

I joined once but couldnt commit 2hrs 3x a week to it so stopped going. Thought it was a bit of a waste of time, as far as fitness goes I dont work in an office im on my feet all day so I get plenty running about through the day, I dont want to bulk up into a hulk like shaped man so didnt really see the point in going. Must say I admire your commitment those guys that spend their lifes in the gym!!

'i dont want to bulk up into a hulk like shaped man' - i know you have no ambition to, but i chuckle when i hear people say this. 90% couldn't even if they did want to.

2 hours in the gym is a long time Colin, 45 mins is plenty enough for me.
