yeah you've done it wrong bonnet isn't supposed to be up, it's supposed to be translucent over the engine bay

without the bonnet, and part of the bonnet none see through, with just being able to see engine would be better

I did get one, but it was pitch black so they look like dipped beam

You would be better overlaying it selectively with just the closed bonnet. Adding the rest of the pic just means everything else is blurred when the camera moved.
