the best thing is mate.. Pop down to tescos, get a Zinc and Vitamin C suppliments (you can get this in a single tub for about £3 ), and also beechams flu plus tablets.

Take a suppliment table + beechams first thing in the morning and then again just before tea. Its made a huge difference for me. The suppliments will help you reduce the time you have the cold and the becchams should calm the cold.

I find if I take loads of stuff like lemsip or whatever it feels like it takes longer to get over, I just try and carry on.

If it's proper head cold and everything, bed and tablets are the only way

A famous photographer once told me:

quote:

3 Cloves Garlic
Shredded Ginger root (Thumb size)
1 whole Lemon diced
Honey tbs
2 shots whisky (optional)

Place at bottom of a large cup and crush with a pestal - add hot water and
leave for 5 mins - drink!

i haven't tried it yet but apparently it ALWAYS works

Yeah, but no-one is willing to try it, who's going to believe some Gypsy Cure when the multi-billion dollar research tells us that chemical drugs are the way forward? Its all about Consumerism.

Anyway, the (potentially) natural cure cant be patented anyway because it doesnt belong to any one person and has been around for 100's of years, hence no-one could make loads of money out of it.

No, but those big multi-billion dollar companies would - for the sake of many many billions - produce and sell this if it worked.

Pencillin is a natural product, doesnt mean people havent made billions out of it. If a big company produced that stuff, sold it under their name and it worked, then they'd make the money.

Why dont people eat an orange and take a paracetamol instead of lemsip? It has the same stuff but the natural orange has to be better for you than some stuff that no-one really knows whats in it. Again, consumerism - people see cold remedy and a packet and buy it - people wouldnt buy natural stuff coz they've been told to trust in the the huge companies and not in some old wives tale.

The fact is, there's no cure for the common cold, so people are still buying stuff that doesnt cure them, whether its made from witches brew or in tablet form.
