any tips for damage limitation here? Maybe different machines that are less brutal or is it just dependant on the monkey doing it?

It reads shit, the wheel has been refurbed by myself with rattle cans so the finish isn't the strongest ever, So i don't want it bashed about and ripped into by the machines that take tyres off, what i'm saying is, is this an impossible task and i should expect it to happen? or if I ask for it not to happen and it does I can complain kind of thing? I'm not up on the process and I know there are people on here that will know.

Could be done, but you would make alot more of a mess doing it yourself than any tyre machine will!

the finish on my alloys is quite soft even though its been done well by a bodyshop.

when i had my tyres changed i said to the guy before he did it, be careful with the finish as it marks very easily.

said it nicely as to not sound like i was being a pompous twat etc

and to be fair he did take care and didnt mark them

Just make sure the paint is fully hardened, explain to the guy that you have just painted them and providing he isn't a complete retard with thalidomide or something they should not get marked.

Anywhere which has tyre fitting gear for alloys (i.e. everywhere) will be able to do it without marking the wheel

i refurb all my own alloys and they come out mint, i also change my own tyres with tyre levers no harm in it aslong as you use your head, just make sure you use a towl or rag on the rim to stop any chipping ar scratching, you dont need any fancy expensive machines to do everything in your life. back to the old school is sometimes better.

its not just changing the tyre i was worried about, it was the socket catching on the outer edges of the wheel lug holes

When I got my wheels, I went to one place to get the tyres fitted, the lad said 'we can't do new wheels, we've had too many complaints about scratches and that'

Ok mate, thanks for that, I'll never come back here then
