I don't understand why insurance is a problem for you.

Adrian Flux class my XE as a group 12 car based on the donor vehicle (Cav GSI). Surely the 106 GTI is higher than group 12?

I declare every mod?

Narrow it down from the cams? to the brakes? to the wheels? to the exhaust? to the lights? it all adds up

Plus i need something that is more practical than a slammed bumble bee

Fair enough if you are looking to decrease insurance premiums.

btw, I also declare ALL my mods. I also have more points than Brucey. I think £420 a year is still pretty good.

my insurance with adrian flux with every thing declared with the c20let wheels, lights, breaks, every thing on the car and my insurance has gone to 530 a year and im 23 with 3 yrs no cliams bonus which on a 1.2 what it was i was paying 600 lol, they are preety good adrian flux, and in whitby you have to be all declared cos you get 3 points with the police for having a back light owt and they constantly do under bonnet checks which is annoying more than any thing.

lumpy idle with cams is just an issue on the dastek. To anyone who buys it, if you get it mapped properly it'll get rid of the lumpy idle.

Mine was rough as a dog, wouldn't idle etc... then got it mapped by Wayne Schofield at chipwizards and now idles like standard, slight rise and lower of the revs as it hunts but generally sits happy steady idling at about 1000-1050 rpm.

dastek doesn't have enough load points and not the same options on idle.

Mine idles fine. As do many other's who go full ECU remap / Standalone. Just saying to whoever buys it, don't be put off by dodgy idling as you can fix it!
