Basically, me and two mates went to take pics of our cars in a factory yard in my home town. Bloke comes out mouthing off telling us to move or he'll call the police and do us for trespassing (being a right prick, really mouthy). We tell him there's no need to be a dick and he could have asked nicely. So then he says he's gonna lock the gate so we cant get out and then call the police. So we got in our cars to drive out the yard and as i pass him he runs into the road and boots the side of my car. I stop and absolutely flipped at the guy, lucky i'm not big built or a fighting type of person coz i think i would have killed him. Mate told me to just leave it so we drove off.

As we go to drive off (still fuming) the bloke jumps out infront of the 3rd car and he got knocked over! So we thought we best go down the police station. Told them what happened etc. The police go and get his version of the story and he tells them that i ran him over and he wants me arrested for assualt!!! And that no one else was involved, it was all me. So police man said if i want him arrested for criminal damage, i will be arrested for assualt. So there's basically nothing i can do about it, i'm out of pocket and he's got away with it. Really gutted that i'm gonna have to have the quarter resprayed, coz there will be a colour difference between that and the door now

The car must have had some filler work on the rear quarter at some point coz there's a crack around 15cm long, but no dent.

Sorry for the essay but i'm still gutted. (happened the other day) will get pics soon.

I would've been kicking him in the head after i'd mowed him down tbf, cheeky mother fucker. He's damaged your property, leave it a little bit and do something to his. Police don't seem to wana help and it may sound childish but that's what i'd do.

surely it would still be worth your while pressing charges since you have witnesses to back up your story and he has none?

Thanks guys

My mate who ran him over even confessed at the police station, but the bloke said it was me. And they told the police that they had 4 witnesses when there was only 2 of them. Think they said that just so it looked better for them as there was only 3 of us.

I know this is easy for me to say Jay, but I REALLY would press charges.

The bloke is obviously unhinged and won't make a good case in court.

Call his bluff. You have all the evidence you need.

Incidentally, if i'd been your mate, i'd have made the first hit count, or backed up and finished the job.

as Jim said, def press charges. He hasn't got any hardcore evidence that you ran him over etc.. Just his word against yours. Is there cctv footage around where the incident happened. Don't back off just because he says you assaulted him. If you are innocent you will be found innocent.

Jay

Where abouts was this, behind Matalan etc?

tbh guys, those that say press charges, fair enough. But we are talking Bedfordshire Police, the worst force in the country. They can't tell their arse from their elbow, let alone sort this out
