Centre:MK is usually good after Xmas. Next opens at 6am or something stupid, and that's on Boxing Day.

How long ago was that? It got a makeover and an extension about 6 years back. It's nearly 1/2 mile long

Metro Centre is good in Gateshead, then there's Eldon Square in Newcastle which isn't far from there either.

I fucking hate it. People randomly stop and change direction in front of you, and it always seems liek I'm getting out the way of others and never the other way round.

Newcastle you could do two centres in one weekend. I'd opt for that if you've done MK before.
MK will be worth a visit in a few years when it grows even bigger.
