so ive just got it back after finally having another gearbox fitted and i noticed yesterday my front wheels were on the wrong side (rotational tyres), so tonight i got it jacked up on axle stands and began swapping them round when i noticed something i never had before

a front arb

i always thought those two from the lower ball joint to the front was the front arb and tonight i noticed a bar joining them so i was like wtf is that, no wonder my car handled better before

oh well

are they easy enough to take off?

i have a whiteline on the rear, handled alot better without the front

If it's FWD, having a stiff rear ARB and soft / no front ARB = good turn in / oversteery...

Having stiff front ARB and soft rear ARB = understeery...

Having stiff front and stiff rear (if done properly) = neutral nice handling...

But generally on FWD stiffen up the rear ARB. If front is too stiff it'll cause understeer.

I know someone with a saxo VTS, that removes his front ARB to get better front end grip...

the only downside is extra body roll at front.

Yeah I was gonna say, alot of guys on the Rallye register have started removing the front arb altogether.

I personally would prefere to stiffen the rear, rather than remove the front arb... but as a free mod it's fair enough.

i ran my corsa without my front ARB, removed it... but it was a bit rear endy in th end, so was going to replace it. Turned in superbly if the car was weighted correctly/balanced for the corner. The rear was the problem.

We removed the drop links from our 205, then retro fitted a lower strutbrace on the subframe, and top one on susp turrets.

It had a bit of understeer

I found taking any kind of turn above 90mph - even long sweeping ones, were abit hairy without the front arb.
