looks great..

Kinda like the old 'classic' 70's 3dr Rangeies.

Why is it pointless? Why is it more pointless that an Evo, Skyline etc

Well something with 500bhp needs to be good on a track/spirited driving IMO and I can't see that being suitable for those, a 4x4 will never handle brilliantly although some of the newer models aren't bad. Great for the Chelsea tractor brigade though

there are lots of merc's BM's with those power figures now...

Its no more pointless than an X5, Cayenne, RangeRover Sport etc.

Its a car, it does what other cars do.

have you ever driven on off road nobbly tyres?

I'd prefer to drive a 4x4 on the road with road tyres over mud pluggers what a silly statement.

yes i live on what was a farm. driven all types of 4x4's.

This bloke had one of those charged range rover sports, he was thrashing it and i just stuck to his ass in my clio. IMO hes spent shit loads on a 'sport' thats slower than a bloody clio and a 4x4 that would get stuck straight away because of the road tyres. Pointless

yes... but a road 4x4 (which lets be honest X5's Range rovers are these days... they'll never go off road) will be much better on road tyres than big treaded off road tyres.

Dont see many farms in chelsea

Plus, the government must slightly like the fact they have road tyres. Imagine the fuel economy with 4x4 tyres. It would be even more shocking.
