Woohoo!!
Had an interview on wednesday afternoon for a job in aberdeen at a school in the early years department, so i'll be workinh with kids 3 months - 5 years. its less money than im on now and that put me off big time, but i get all my training for free, and i'll end up trained to management level and I can go into teaching.
thought about the money side of things and i was going to turn it down, but then thought where else am i going to get training like that for free??
spoke to martin last night and he's said he will pay my share of the mortgage, phoned the school today, and the job is mine!!!!!!!!
so freekin excited!! finally i can tell my boss to stick her job!!!!

Hey congratulations! That's excellent news My friend was a classroom assistant for about 18months and even though the pay was not great she said it was the best thing she ever done is it helped her to get into teaching and the support the school gave her was excellent- ie helping with her PGCE application etc etc. So the paycut was definitely worth it as she's now a fully qualified teacher for year 6 and been doing it for about three years now.
Well done

Thank You!
Have to make a few sacrifices, stop spending so much, fewer nights out and that but it'll be worth it in the long run.
The hardest part will be selling my car and getting a diesel, so not looking forward to that part

Definatley, Im working as a nanny just now, as well as doing part time work wherever I can get it. I dont have the money or the time to do any further training, but with this new job I get trained to post graduate level for free at the school so i dont even have to go to college! And im guaranteed to progress within the school and end up as a manager

Got my start date through for the job, start on 3rd december!
Handed in my notice on monday an now my boss is bein a total bitch! gave her 2 weeks notice and now she's demanding a month, saying she's disappointed in me and thinks im very unreasonable for expecting her to be able to find alternative childcare in 2 weeks. ffs there are about 4 kindergartens/nurseries where she lives!
thing is, ive never had a contract, so technically I only have to give her one weeks notice because i dont have it in writing that I need to give more!!
also, she's demanding that i work on thursday (my day off) cuz her husband is up in court, and my grandparents are up from bolton staying with me and we're going to buy my wedding dress on thursday

Tell her where to go, seriously, if you are not contracted then you are being reasonable enough.
