I'm speechless. What sort of justice is that and how can any Country defend such a legal system.

The Saudi one....
Its totally male/religious orientated.
I lived there for a bit, again with my dad. His boss was (how can i say this in a non discriminatory term?) a dwarf/deformed cripple.
His wife was a princess of similar religion, and utterly gorgeous.....she gave him two beautiful kids, but couldn't bear a third child due to medical reasons.
The result?
She was kicked out of the house, number two wife beame No1 and another (younger) wife was taken on as number two..
I dont agree with that, but thats their way....their country and their rules, shame we dont do the same here.
As an aside, we were warned when stonings were happening...and were told to keep away. We kept away, but the sounds of somebody dying like that were truly horrific

Yeah I suppose it is their country and we don't have the right to impose our values on them but bloody hell the difference is mind boggling. Over here you can't smack a child who runs out into the road anymore but over there a woman can get 200 lashes and go to prison for being in a blokes car despite being gang raped.

Jules good little readup that.
Its strange how the arabic religion slightly changes from country to country.
Im not religious, but find religion interesting as its the bain of so many bloody wars I like the arabic religion though, but only in certain parts.
If anything, i could be an extremist, because thats all they do, (these nutter scuicide types) take the part of the religion they want, and ignore the rest...
Its a very interesting thing, but man they've also got some very 1 sided fcuked up laws too

I go to Uni in Luton, and naturally, there are all race and religions there.
There are some, what I'd call, orthodox muslim males there. Beards, wearing the long gown type things, so they are clearly strict in practicising the religion.
Yet all of them wear Nike trainers - isn't that what they are essentially against?!

one thing boggles me about that article, if unrelated women and men arent allowed to asociate with each other, does that mean you have to marry a cousin or sister

Probably not - once the arranged marriage has been arranged by the dad's, they are no longer strangers. I guess

A lot of inter-family marrying goes on. It's getting to a point now where the man and wife are going for tests before having children because of the children being born deformed etc.
You may look at Saudi and think "nut cases" (and may well be right), but the difference between a country such as the UK and Saudi is that Saudi is governed by Religion. They don't allow any other religion, and have no intention of. Westerners living in Saudi are known to try and smuggle christmas trees into the country at christmas time to try and make their places 'christmas like'. There is literally no other room for any religion.

Spend a week here and then a week in Saudi and you'll soon see that your generalizing comment above is complete bollocks. The UAE judicial system is still in the crusades at times, but that's also changing slowly but surely.

Serious question - why would they be against Nike trainers?
