Few people in the gym seem to be using the straps that wrap round your wrist, then round the bar, you know the type???
does this take some of the strain off your forearms?
Any body use them at all, I think I want a set

What are they using them for, pulling or pushing exercises?

I use them when the weight is really heavy.
It takes some of the strain off your hands and forearms when doing back and shoulders.

if your forearms cant take the weight, dont lift it. Ive never understood the need for straps.

I wear a wrist strap on my left arm as I'm carrying a football injury. It does help to firm up the wrist. So I'd imagine wearing to would be beneficial to firming the wrists up.

You can also get straps that go round your wrists that have hooks attached to them

Depends what they are doing with them, some people use straps that wrap around wrist and then round the bar as they know their grip is going to fail so with the strap around wrist and bar they can use that to take most of the strain and get a few more reps.
Other ones are used as mentioned before to strengthen the wrist which is mainly in pushing exercises.
Yeh Andy those with the hooks are quite shit though, break quite easy as do quite a lot of straps, my advice is not to use them until your actually lifting a weight where you need them. If your failing with group grip early drop the weight a bit and see how it goes

Anyone who struggles with grip on deadlifts for example use an overhand grip with one hand and an underhand grip on the other, can work quite well.
Dont use straps unless you absolutely have to, wont help your already weak forearms tbh.
I would only use them on a mega uber heavy 4-6 repper on a deadlift.

This is what i do, one overhand one underhand when doing deadlifts/bb rows and each set i'll swap hands works much better imo

I get get on with opposite grips on bent over rows though, feels to odd. Cant get that same squeeze in my lats that id get using a standard grip.

Depends, usually i'll do my first 2 sets using the same grip, then on the 3rd set i'll use alternate grips and then 4th set (which i usually do to fail) will use alt grip again
My shoulders been in agony since Wednesday after my chest/shoulder/tri session, it isn't doms either i'm just hoping its a little inflamed and not the rotator cuff :/
