As some may know i was involved in an accident about a week back where an old guy (88) pulled straight out onto me.

Saw this today - http://www.askmid.com/askmid.aspx

posted by someone else and checked his reg.

Turns out he's not insured!?!
im fully comp and the insurance claim hasnt really got underway yet, what will happen if this thing's accurate?

yes indeed, not a scratch on it! but the garage where it's just gone off to have taken it off and are planning to replace it with a new standard V grille lol!
apparantly i can still keep the debadged (which i will obviously stick straight back on when/if i get it back... dont know if its a write off yet)

sooo if anyone is after a brand new standard grille...

That site is not 100% acurate. He may still be insured.

thats the other thing - it was a brand new car (07 plate) so im not sure if it would have been updated on there, anyone know how up to date that site is?

Mine apparently is not insured on there and i've had it a month. Hence it's not acurate lol

yes it depends when its last updated and where they source infomation

On the autotrader you can check regs on the site free. My old registeration that went on the TT when it sold is on the BMW according to AT

My dads registration also pulls up a completely different car

tbh, if it was that new, he wouldn't have got the car without insurance - I'm pretty sure, when dad bought a newish car but the tax had run out, the garage wanted to see an insurance certificate before they could tax it etc.

Don't worry yourself, let the insurance companies sort it out - if you are all above board, that is all that matters.

mine says its on the database on that website but no details of the car

i'm sure if he wasn't insured then your insurance would've told you that straight away

I would just have something simple for winter, then upgrade after because that rover could be a handfull in the cold weather. Get a run around like an s3 or something....
