Having done about 300 miles, it's time for a verdict........
Engine - Seems to be nice and tight, which makes a difference from the XE, not the quickest thing on 4 wheels, but quick enough. I give it a hoofing the other day, and it hit 110 quite easily, with a bit in the revs left over. Fuel consumption is good aswell. It's a very quiet engine, and you can tell it's hardly used the revs previously.
Gearbox - Only thing i can say about the box is wow. Really, really nice to use, short throw and tight. Maybe an oil change is needed. It's fun to throw through the box without using a lot of revs. 3rd gear is a bit pants though, seems the ratio is a bit to cock.
Handling - Superb handling, far superior to a standard corsa. Fun to chuck round roundabouts and back lanes. Only thing is it sometimes feels a bit light, but planted at the same time. Bit wierd to get used to
Interior - Not bad, but not the best. Seats are a little uncomfy. Plus the way i sit i can't see the top of the clocks, need to sit back a bit more.
Overall, very happy with it. Fun little car

It's a mark 5. Paid 3K from a trader, 2000 on an X plate, 55,000 miles. 2 owners.
Insurance is half of a red top.

Ah yes sorry mk5
I also own one.
Ive found that they handle well out of the box but steering is far to light, have to be quite carefull in the wet.
Ive had 130 on the clocks in mine but i was proberbly doing more along the lines of 110 but i dont know how acturate the clock is that far round.
Not bad cars all in all but all overcompensated and smooth for my liking, cant wait to get my corsa back

It's red, so i've been looking at a set of pro race 1.2's in black.
And some springs, that'll do then I reckon.

Sounds good - I loved the greabox in my missus' 1.4 16v Fiesta, clutch is very short as well compared to a Corsa.
Hers hit 110mph (on the clocks, on a private road) quite easily, I would have thought the Zetec S would do more tbh.
Keep an eye on that oil

So I believe. I checked it yesterday, and it was half on the indicator.
I'll check again in a week and see how shes going.

Weekly is the max I'd be checking mine. May be twice per week. Will save a whole lot of hassle.

i love my mk6 zs, so good 2 throw round corners and power isnt 2 bad either, although the 3rd gear acceleration is a bit crap. Hit 125 and was scared 2 go more lol, cant wait to upgrade to an st though.

why bother you have a corsa for trashing about
why not keep the fez bomb as a smooth daily driver

Can't afford to run 2 cars. Plus i've fell out with the corsa, not my mate anymore.
Need something cheaper to run and insure. And something more reliable.
