me and chris c started to take my engine out by unplugging most of the wires etc and taking the hoses off ,got most of the bits off needed but cant get the f**king gear linkage bit off  can any one shed any light? or show with pics please? cheers

Bulkhead side is 13mm IIRC, middle (on the gearbox mount) is just a clip which you can take off with your hands, and gearbox side is a pin which you have to squeeze together to get out. The gearbox bit I always find is the bastard.

Undo the clamp bolt holding the lever rod to the linkage....
Then remove the engine/box, with the linkage still attached.

Just undo the 13mm bolt which is like a c clamp (can be seen easily undernesth the car), which holds the linkage to the gearlever in the car.
After it is undone get someone inside the car to move the gear stick back and foreward untill the linkage comes undone.

funny enough i had the same problem here yesterday when trying tot take my engine out ... stupid gearlinkage !! i got the little clip of the bottom but it was getting dark so left it over night ... try again this morning .

i finally did it lol
i must have been blind to miss this ... it was dark though
i had to undo the bolt on the shaft
|
