not conclusive at all, even on a dyno dynamics machine (which are probably the most accurate over consecutive runs for repeatability) you will see variations between each run similar to that.

was the tank emptied, temps the same, gearbox temps the same etc etc

Aye, guess so

I also read about a K series engine that was tested with these "octane/power boosters"
Most did nothing and some reduced peak power

map the car to suit, run more ignition and see bigger gains

My Golf GTI only liked BP ultimate or V-Power/Optimax... it hated Tesco 99-ron stuff and seemed to love the BP Ultimate

i only use bp normal unleaded, i'm too pikey quid a litre aswell

only just got tesco 99ron at the pumps in carlisle. aint tried it yet due to having no engine in the car

its true though. i could put it into my cavalier, although it would be a waste of money
