i am just lookiing at the fitting seats thread, and it says
First off, loosen the sill trim panel and put the safety pin into the pre-tensioner - That bit's important!

what is this? i havnt done this yet, just unscrewed the back two bolts????

what do i have to do

Its defo important, as it can detonate which can cause you injury or at the least mean you have to buy a new one.

I highly recommend you do this before you go any further!

There is a pretensioner at the side of the seat with a red pin, it will tell u where to put the pin to make it safe. very important mate.

if he doesnt post for a few hours he probably has a pin stuck in his face.

i can imagine him rushing to get it done and using a pair of pliers because he hasnt got a spanner.......

too late to say safety glasses?

You have to loosen off the sill trim panel and put the safety pin into the pre-tensioner. Seems fairly obvious.

There are no explosives in pretensioners, just a bloody great spring.

I put a picture of it in that thread Will. The pretensioner is the tube, the red thing is the saftey pin, which is normally attached to the end of the tube.

Yeah there are, on the newer models they use a Pyrotechnic charge as a pretensioner, its on the old models (pre 97 possibly) that have the coil sprung pretensioners.
