Only noticed it today, they have put up a new speed sensor just down the road from me...

It's weird I have never seen one before but it tells you how fast you are going and if you are within the limit a smiley face appears however if above a sad face

Thought it was kinda cool - have to get some pics

yeah, had a few of these around us, normally mobile ones attached to lamposts and then they soon get moved elsewhere. Think they probably keep a log of speeds aswell so can be used to argue that a speed camera is needed.

Few of these around Liverpool. Also have some where it flashes to tell you to slow down.

theres 3 or 4 separate signs telling you to slow down going into rufford over a stretch of about half a mile. just so happens that they're right in front of the house of the person that decides where they should go

- I noticed there were a load of kids out and about earlier, riding bikes to see how fast they could go I think one of them got 22mph flat out!

you can get the speed camera to flash coming down parbold hill on your bike.

cosmo, i've always dreamed of booting it down there but never had the guts, too many places for police cars to be hiding

There's one on the new bypass in Haydock, it's in a 40, if you do over 50 or under 30 it doesn't flash up apparently

Seen some near Rufford too, they only flash up if you're speeding, drove past a few times before I knew they were there

I find the ones in Rufford are sometimes set to tell you that your going just over 30mph anyway, even if your going 100mph or if your doing 20mph!
