How do you go about getting a proper bike license?
I don't have any bike training at all, no CBT or anything, but I currently hold a Full car license.
I've tried reading up on Google but it doesn't answer a few question I've got and I know we have some bikers on here.
Any info appreciated.

I'm thinking about doing it for next year. I can't help but love how some bikes look.

get your cbt done first. need to go to a bike training centre. its a day course. u learn in the morning and are on the roads in the afternoon. if your good enough u get your cbt license. costs around £55 (if i remember right)
your cbt license last 2 years and in that time u gotta pass your full bike license or else u gotta do your cbt again. You can fast track your full license, not sure on cost though. Plus they recommend u have all your own gear like jacket, helmet, pants etc.

I am indeed over 21.
For the cost it seems sensible to do the CBT first then?

unless u wanna do the direct access course which is everything together. cost summat like £550 i think...could be wrong though.
Best bet is to do cbt. then u can chill on bike (125cc max) and get used to it. once your happy move on to the next stage

Yeah I quite like the Aprilla RS125's. I don't plan on getting rid of my car or anything so it'll be for the decent weather

i passed cbt then booked my theory, passed that and booked a 3 day direct access course, you turn up at 8 till 4.30 for 2 days, half a day then your test on the third.works out at 20 hours plus your test.
book now as its dearer in the summer
£300 ish in winter(off peak)
£550 upwards in summer.
these prices usually include the test fee
that was 3 years ago but prices generally stay the same

Forget the 125, just get a sensible bigger bike imo. Do the direct access course now, get it out of the way. You can still get a 125 if you fell the need but the license is in the bag and done already if you do it now.

Dont get RS125 - garantee they most you will get out of it is 10k miles without a rebuild. They are very tempremental and very over priced (Mate has a 2007 rs125 and it is slower than my 1.4 sport.
I no it needs tempering with, but even then, you will see about 90. Its aload of shit when people say 110 mph. I promise you.
It cost him £4000 quid. utter waste of money tbh
Only buy one if you are seriously into babying your bikes!

I'm sure honda do a 125 of some sort, can't remember the name tho!
I did my direct access a month ago, was £610 & included theory test, cbt, 2 days training (500cc) and then the test. Bikes, fuel and insurance inc too. I'd had a bike before but only to race round fields but i found it pretty easy going. (passed with 3 minors) Got my R6 two weeks ago and absolutely loving it!
iirc, they are reviewing the laws early next year to stop direct access age being 21, just a rumour tho at the moment

The NSR looks nice. CBR mirrors look gay though.

Quality presumably 0ncd for bike if you did cbt etc, so cheap considering the 'risk' imo
