Rob - Tell me about it im very surprised! think it might have had something done to the ECU but will find out when i go to an RR day on the 24th feb 
Warren - 180bhp. The golfs with the 1.8t's didnt get more than 180. I only got a 15.3 with the xe, so at the moment yup xe is more chuckable fun though.
Deano - Dont have a clue, think the ECU may have been fiddled with but shall find out in a few weeks.

Well after the pod outing the last bit of meat on the rear pads was gone and i'd damaged the discs aswell, so while i was off work yesterday i purchased some new 256mm rear discs and pads to suit, no more grinding and squeaking Also got a new tyre fitted to the rear as it was practically a slick!

ive never had it that low in mine  managed a 44 in 5th once (im not lucky enough to have six speed)
may have a short shifter for the 6 speed for sale as bought it for mine thinking it was for 5 speed, the thought it could fit onto old mans golf (diesel weasel so wont!) if your interested?!
