See what you think
We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr.
Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day
campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't
continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol.
It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers.
With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.
If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!
Acting together we can make a difference.
PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRERANGE
It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.
boycott BP and Esso

IMO it's not the petrol companies who are at fault - it's the government who take something rediculous like 70% of the price of a litre of fuel.

i dont really mind road tax because it works out for me at like 16 quid a month- which for the amount i use the road is fine and dandy!
only thing i have to say is that i wish the council round here would bloody sort the roads out

you bunch of whinging pikeys! what do you live in a carvan or something
95-1 pound a litre isn't that expensive i don't think. i put between 50 and 60 pounds a week petrol in and doesn't really harm my bank balance so i don't see why people are moaning?
if you are worried about the price, buy an eco friendly car that does 500mpg or something...
i only use bp anyway so i'm not going to boycott them just to save a couple pence a litre which would only end up about a pound cheaper for a tank

mate read a news paper!! 2/3's of petrol price are tax not oil prices. The reason petrol prices have risen above a £1 a litre is because of another rise in duty of 2p a litre from the last budget.
Prices are never going down. Oil is a precious and a rarer commodity by the day.
Road tax is gay as i dont see any improvements in roads considering theres about 35million cars on the roads!

I will buy from who ever is cheapest, usually Tesco or Shell.
Those who are not bothered about the price have to much money or generally don't drive many miles

You're better off keeping your tyres properly inflated and driving economicaly than trying to find a petrol station that will save you 40p a tank.

I buy BP, and always have in my Corsa. It has only ever had BP fuel in it. I worked out once, I'd have saved 40p in filling up, by going to a different brand, a bit further down the road, so it would have cost me about 40p to get there
The Nectar points are too valuable. I've got numerous CD's and not had to pay for them
Wild Bean is also better than any other shite.
And I'm not buying cheap petrol from the likes of Tesco, I don't want my fuel system contaminated.

If the petrol reduces in price something else will go up in price.
If Petrol halfs road tax will x10
