well ive not long finished running my engine in after a full rebuild.been giving it a bit of stick the past couple of days and everything has been ok.then tonight as i went for 3rd gear i heard a crunching noise and my battery/ignition lights all came on.so i coasted to a stop and then tried to start it again.found the timing belt had snapped. now im stuck for what to do.do i

a)rebilt it again

b)buy a let and stick that in

?

Timing belt too tight?? Id be going back to whoever rebuilt it!! Unless it was you

yes it was me and no it wasnt too tight.i re checked it just the other day and it was fine.yeh gunna take the head off and see how bad it is anyway

had a look at it tonight and found out the timing belt had not broken but the woodruff key in the bottom pulley/crank has gone and cause the pistons to meet the valves

prob only 8 valves like. would rebuild it tbh. i got loads of valves laying around if your in need

yeh i can rebuild it no probs i can get all the bits i need cheap as i used rebuild engines.its just if the crank is nackered theres no point.

crank will be alright. a mate of mine done the same. just sent the exhaust valves on the piss. will obviously need a pully tho. get ta stripdown !

its hard when ive had so many problems with it.ive only had it a few months and this is its second bottom endand ive only just rebuilt it.also i want more power so im stuck for what to do.
