Pretty much decided I want an Astra Coupe, looked at other things but for the money it seems like a good choice
2.2 is the best engine choice so Im told
I really like the SE1/SE2's. Nice interior, nice colour, better wheels etc
An example of one Clicky
Or there is another one up at £250 more with 43K
Also seen this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230178859846
54 plate, low miles, half leather, optional extra wheels, rare colour. Up at 5K
A lot going for it, but then again it is more money. Cheap for what it is though!
Not sure on the interior though
Better pic:

Not as nice as the SE2 imo, but still quite nice
But then today I've seen this & it's also up at a good price
Clicky
Leather interior, bit more fancy given the fact that the roof folds down, still a 2.2, mileage a bit on the high side though
Ideally wanted to spend about 4 - 4.5K a car. Don't know what the best choice is
The one at 5K is clearly the best car, just not sure if it's the one I want

2.2 is torquey but very thirsty
The only engines worth buying is the 1.8 16v with with 130ish bhp and the z20let

Definately.
My Dad is on his second 1.8 and he does 70 miles a day on the Motorways. Plenty of pull for the size of the car.
Get's great MPG too.

I drove a 1.8 astra and was very impressed (was an sri hatch) seem to have a nice amount of pull. Didnt drive either of the others though so cant compare
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Matt buy the sunrise orange one - very very rare and a nice car. Gsi front would look awesome on it
Just to add the 2.2 is a much better engine, and it will give you more options tuning wise (if you want to go down that route).

And what would you know about Astras?
I've never seen one in that colour before, so must be fairly rare. Seen quite a few Europa blue ones Book price is a lot more than the asking price so wont lose as much when I come to sell
Not too bothered about tuning but as a treat I may spruce it up a bit. No money is getting spent on it till I finish the Corsa though

I know sod all about astras mate - just another car to me mate
I have only every seen one in that colour once on the road (never a modiifed one), with the interior as well it makes it very rare indeed.
Like you say blue ones will sell all day long when you do decide to get rid, but then like you are thinking now, it would be nice to have something a bit different

I've bought an Astra Coupe recently, decieded on a 1.8 over 2.2 mainly for insurance reasons as it was almost £200 cheap for me, performance on paper between the two wasn't worth the extra IMO plus the 1.8 was local and exactly what I was after.
Good on fuel as well if driven sensibility - I got 170 miles from £20 on a mixture of roads.

Dont know much about them but I remember hearing whats being said by everyone, 1.8 over the 2.2. No real advantage other than the 2.2 drinks like a tramp.
