Willingly drive a car that looks good but is a 1.0?

Ive just seen a nice lupo, lowered, general euro styling but its only a 1.0, which i supose is great for insurance and tax but it will just be sooo slow

yes, you can hardly use the speed if you live in a built up area anyway.

Yes.

I do

But seriously, of course you can. Granted, it'd be shocking on long journeys etc, but that'll sit at 70mph, and will have good fuel economy round town and such.

My mate went from a 1.8T audi tt to a 1.4 lupo

He's just sold it and going to put a 1.8t into something else now!

He happily drove it about, but in the ended wanted more power back!

I couldn't after driving my 1.4 sport. I drove a mates standard 1.4 sport the other day and I don't think I could even go back to that

There is a certain level of slowness that can be dropped to, and it depends what you currently drive imo. I couldn't drop to anything I felt was dangerously slow with no power to overtake, i get too stressed stuck behind really slow drivers.

I was happy with my Corsa for 3 years, I then got a bit bored of it being slow plus I don't do much mileage so economy does'nt bother me.

i would, then later in the year i would use the money saved on insurance and cheaper running costs to drop in a 1.8t from a golf, but then saying this as i type i find my car slow and its my first car so anything slower would kill me

That was his plan, he bought a 225 1.8t and its re-mapped to 265bhp!

But he seen some light, and wanting to put it into something like a mk2 golf!

His lupo was about 2cm from the ground all round and on 14" split rims so not the best car for 265bhp!

Yes.

Pro's:
Better MPG
Cheaper TAX
Cheaper Insurance
Argueably cheaper parts
Argueably less to go wrong

Cons:
Lack of speed
Lack of power
Possibility of getting bored

Mini beasts rule

So does mini beast racing... I had an awesome mini beast race down the A40 between me in my Yaris and Little Vik in her mums Citroen C2... cracking fun

Slight caveat... the mini beast should generally be a 2nd car

As mine will be when I finally get round to purchasing a main car
