It isn't like a 2.2!

They use 2 chains apparently.

Vaux do a 1.2 by joining it up with the old one, feeding it through, then taking the old one off etc.

No idea how much Vauxhall charge BUT warren.g on here did mine and Planty02's. He might be able to do yours, providing he can 'borrow' the part from work. He cost £100 all in. Don't get your hopes up though, he might not be able to.

Plus he is in Maidenhead area iirc.

vauxhall do it two ways, either replace the chain (for the recall which you now have to pay for) or replace the whole lot (inc tensioner and guides)

So it is like a 2.2 then?

All 3 engines are chain driven and have 2 chains.

He's right Robin, X10XE/X12XE and the Z versions have 1 chain

Just say to Vauxhall you want the chain changed.

Basically, what happens, is the chain stretches and wares. The tensioner can't tension any more. warren said you may as well just put a new chain in, because you only have to take the rocker cover off basically, whereas the tensioner, the whole side of the engine.

Just get Vauxhall to change the chain.
